I feel like the tech industry has gotten increasingly nasty since 2010 or so. Where there was once a community feel and a sense that we were all in this together, trying to do the right thing for our customers and the world, I feel like the industry I loved has become more greedy, more misogynist, and more elitist.

To quote Dan Lyons in Disrupted: My Misadventures in the Start-Up Bubble:

"The old tech industry was run by engineers and MBAs; the new tech industry is populated by young, amoral hustlers, the kind of young guys (and they are almost all guys) who watched The Social Network and its depiction of Mark Zuckerberg as a lying, thieving, backstabbing prick--and left the theater wanting to be just like that guy."
